Estos eran los 100 libros favoritos de David Bowie

El Duque Blanco cultivó un amplio hábito literario durante su vida.

Además de ser uno de los más grandes músicos que haya existido, David Bowie era un ávido lector. El 'Camaleón del Rock' hacía frecuentes alusiones a sus obras literarias en sus letras, desde el concepto unificador de '1984' en 'Diamond Dogs' (1974) hasta la obsesión con Friedrich Nietzsche (particularmente en la era 'The Man Who Sold The World'  y 'Hunky Dory'), Anthony Burguess y William Burroughs. 

No es de extrañar que, siendo un hombre tan entendido en el mundo literario, Bowie haya tenido una lista con sus libros favoritos, o al menos los que él consideraba que todo el mundo debería leer en algún momento. Así lo revelaron Geoffrey Marsh y Victoria Broackes, los curadores de la exposición 'David Bowie Is' que ha recorrido el mundo desde el 2013.

Marsh y Broackes publicaron un listado con 100 títulos que Bowie consideraba como los libros más esenciales de todos los tiempos. Entre ellos se encuentran trabajos ya mencionados como '1984' y 'La Naranja Mecánica', además de otros clásicos como 'Mientras Agonizo' de William Faulkner, 'El Extranjero' de Albert Camus y 'Lolita' de Vladimir Navokob. 

Sin embargo, el Duque Blanco no se limita a ficción clásica: También hay biografías ('The Life and Times of Little Richard' de Charles White), crónicas ('A Sangre Fría' de Truman Capote) y postmodernismo contemporáneo ('Ruido De Fondo' de Don DeLillo).
